Where did the idea to develop a matte graphite pencil come from?
In art, it is important to optimally present artworks, whether physically in an exhibition or digitally on art websites and platforms. Exposure to light is a recurring challenge. In adverse lighting conditions, reflections from light can disappear details of the work. This can also happen when digitizing drawings for the web (e.g. photography or scanning). This problem is now solved by Pitt Graphite Matt, which with their matte formula leaves little or no room for light reflections.
What is the difference between Pitt Graphite Matt and regular pencils?
The Pitt Graphite Matt pencil has a matte finish and produces very little or no light reflections. This means that no details of the drawing are lost due to light reflections from any angle. Digitization (photography, scanning) without reflections is also made easier.
Why aren't there higher hardnesses (H-6H) available?
Light reflections are a problem in the art world. Monochrome drawings with graphite require a lot of contrast in gray and black tones. To create these different tonalities, the artist needs soft graphite. The softer the graphite, the darker and blacker the result. This allows for the maximum depth effect to be created. This is not possible with hardnesses like H and harder.
